Day 0 – Getting to Cornwall

We have all made it to the bottom of Cornwall, and have two almost-working unicycles ready to go.  Roger’s wheel is a newly built one from the back seat of the car on the A30, with Mike Penton’s loaned Schlumpf hub.

“Anyone who knows about wheel building knows that this is not the way you do it” – Roger.

We have been carb-loading with some pints at a local licenced establishment with Tue Johannson (of RTL team Lost Wheelers fame), and are due to meet for a witnessed start at 9am tomorrow morning.

Driving south down the roads we’ll be following back up felt a bit like the scary mood-music that theme parks play during the queue to a rollercoaster.  The roads swoop a fair bit, but it’s pretty countryside too.   Can’t wait to get going…
